In this article, we are going to explore Product Prompts. It's a great way to upsell things like meal deals, vouchers, show programmes, and even for pre-ordering interval drinks to online customers as they go through the booking process online. It's super easy to set up!
Prompting a Product on all Shows

2. Ensure Active product? and Can be sold? toggles are switched On (blue).
3. Choose a Tag for the product and add it to the tag box. In this example we have added the tag 'prosecco'.
You can either search for an existing tag or enter a new one and click on enter to create the tag. Tags cannot have spaces or uppercase characters.

Ticketsolve Tip
You can prompt more than one Product, just make sure you add a space between each tag in the "product_prompts" setting, e.g., 'prosecco comedybrunchprog'.
Here is how multiple Product prompts will display on the Suggestions page:
Reporting on Product Prompts (add-ons)
1. Go to Box Office and the Event Summary.
2. Click on View / Print lists.
3. Select Customer list or Customer list (Short) in your preferred format.
You'll see a list of customers and the products they have purchased under the Add ons column.
Ticketsolve Tip
Something to be aware of when reporting on Product prompts / add-ons is that when products are purchased on Ticketsolve, they are not "linked" to the events that they may have also purchased, or to put it another way, products have no date and time associated with them. They will appear in the add-ons for all events that were purchased in the same order (even if that product is not available for that event).
For example, if a customer orders:
- 1 x ticket for Event A
- 1 x prosecco
- 1 x ticket for Event B
In the Customer List reports, the same 1 prosecco will be recorded as an add-on for both Event A and Event B, as the system does not know which event the prosecco is 'linked' to.
This means it may be advisable to scan your products in when the customer collects or record when a product was collected by the customer another way.
Filtering Product prompts if they are already in the Cart
You have the option to stop customers who purchase a Product before going through the checkout process from having that same Product prompted to them in the Suggestions step of the checkout.
To enable filtering of already selected products:
1. Go to Settings > General Settings.
2. Find the setting called "product prompts setting".
3. Tick the box so it is on and click Update.
