How to integrate your Ticketsolve account with Illuminate

In this article, we will explain how your Ticketsolve account can easily connect with Illuminate via an automatic API integration.

What is Illuminate?

Illuminate is a new Audience Data Platform created by PwC for arts and cultural organisations. Illuminate enables organisations to gather audience data through surveys and box office connections, and access meaningful insights about who engages with your activities. All organisations funded by Arts Council England as National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) are required to send data to Illuminate as part of their funding agreement. 

Integrating Ticketsolve with Illuminate

As an NPO you should have received communications from Illuminate directly about setting up the platform. Once your account is created with Illuminate, they will contact Ticketsolve directly requesting a connection to your account.

Sending data to Illuminate

Every funded organisation (NPO, IPSO and CPP) must use Illuminate to report on funded activity and audience/participant numbers on a quarterly basis. This is completed through the Activity / Event log section of Illuminate.

There are also additional requirements regarding Audience Surveys and Box Office Data - please refer to the Arts Council Website to read more and fully understand the requirements.

Adding Activity / Event log data

The Activity / Event log can be completed manually per event or by using the bulk upload feature on the Illuminate portal. You can read more about the Activity / Event log on the Arts Council Website. You can also access step-by-step instructions within the Illuminate Training Hub

Using Illuminate's Bulk Event Upload feature

You must complete all the mandatory columns in both the Locations and Events tabs of the Bulk Events Upload Template spreadsheet (you can download this from your Illuminate portal).

 Important

It is essential that you complete the "BoxOfficeProviderEventRef" column with the relevant Event IDs from Ticketsolve. To make this easy, we've built a report to extract these for you. To get your Event IDs, contact Ticketsolve Support and let us know the start and end date that you require Event IDs.

Ticketsolve Support will then extract your Event IDs and email the Event IDs to you in a CSV file for you to add to your Events Upload Template spreadsheet.
