Marketing Campaign for a Returning Event

In this article, we are going to look at creating a marketing campaign for a returning event. For returning shows, events or production companies, you can create a segment of customers who previously purchased for events in the past but have not yet booked for the upcoming event.

This is a two-step process where you need to create two separate reports in Your Reports.

Report A: Find customers who have already booked for the upcoming event

First, go to Reports > Your Reports and create a new report by clicking on Add New and then Report.

Then complete the following:

1. Name the report.

2. Select the type Line Items Facts View.

3. Click Save.

Now we need to add a filter to bring in the customers who have booked for the upcoming event.

1. Click Add New.

2. Select the filter saw shows.

3. Search for the show and include this year's show.

4. Click Save.

That is Report A completed and we can move to the second report.

Report B: Find bookers for the previous events and exclude Report A

For the second report, we need to create a second Your Reports. We will include customers who have booked for previous events, and exclude those customers who have already booked for the upcoming event, so we don't annoy them with marketing and promotions for an event they already have tickets for!

1. Go to Reports > Your Reports.

2. Create a new report by clicking on Add New and then Report.

3. Name the report.

4. Select the type Line Items Facts View.

5. Click Save.

Now we need to add our filters:

1. Find the saw shows filter and select to include the past events.

2. Find the based on customers in filter.

3. Select to exclude Report A (customers who have already booked for the upcoming show).

4. Click the Save button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Now we have a report of people who booked for the event(s) in the past, but have not yet booked for the upcoming one:

You can now push this segment of customers over to Mailchimp using the Customer Email Lists feature to send your marketing campaign. For a guide on creating Customer Email Lists on Ticketsolve, take a look at this article
