How to create custom listings for shows and products using tags

Here is a step by step guide to show you how to create URLs for your Ticketsolve website using the Tag feature.

Whilst your Ticketsolve website Show listings page will allow users to filter listings by Event Category or Venue, as selected when you create the event, building a custom URL is really handy if you want to link specific shows together that are across categories or venues - for example everything in your 'summer' season. You can then use this custom URL in your marketing campaigns.

Custom URLs can also be used to filter items on the Products areas on your website.  For example you might have multiple Donation products listed, but want to have a link that points to one specific Donation product only as you're using it for a fundraising campaign.

Create a custom URL for shows

Adding the tag to shows

Navigate to Manage > Shows and find the first show that you want to include in the custom URL.

1. In the Tags box you can now add the tag you want to use for the custom URL. If this is the first time you are creating the tag, type the tag, in this example 'comedyfestival' into the box.

2. Press Enter on your keyboard.

3. Click Update Show to save the tag.

You can now repeat the tagging process for the other shows you want to list under the custom URL. When you go to the Tags box, you will now see the tag you created in the list ready to select.

Building the custom listing page URL for shows

1. Open a new tab and go to your Ticketsolve online site, for this example we are using: https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com

2. Take the URL of your Shows listing page, for example:

https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows

3. You now need to add the suffix ' ?tags=xxxx ' to the end of this URL.

So in this example, we would be adding ?tags=comedyfestival to our URL.

Your URL should now look like this:

https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows?tags=comedyfestival

4. You can now copy this URL, and paste it into your browser.

You can then use this URL to link from your website and it will only list the Shows that have that specific tag.

Note: If your account is set to redirect back to your website when the Show header is clicked this functionality won't work.

Create a custom URL for products

Before we start, it's important to say that custom URLs for products will only work within the listings page for the different product types, because Donation products and Benefit products (for memberships) have separate pages:

So, it's possible to make a custom listings page for certain Regular products, certain Donation products, or certain Benefit products, but it's not possible to make a custom listings page to combine a Regular product and a Donation product, or a Donation product and a Benefit product.

Adding the tag to products

Navigate to Manage > Products and find the first product that you want to be included in the custom URL.

1. In the Tags box you can now add the tag you want to use for the custom URL. If this is the first time you are creating the tag, type the tag, in this example 'giftvoucher' into the box.

2. Press Enter on your keyboard.

3. Click Update to save the tag.

Building the custom listing page URL for products

1. Open a new tab and go to your Ticketsolve online site, for this example we are using: https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com

2. Take the URL of your Products listing page, depending on the product type. In this example, the Gift Voucher product we have tagged is listed under the general Products header:

https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/products/regular

3. You now need to add the suffix ' ?tags=xxxx ' to the end of this URL.

So in this example, we would be adding ?tags=giftvoucher to our URL.

Your URL should now look like this:

https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/products/regular?tags=giftvoucher

You can now copy this URL, and paste it into your browser.

If you wanted to make custom URLs, you want follow the exact same process, but with the specific URL for that product header plus the suffix e.g.,

https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/products/donation?tags=xxxx

https://ticketsticketsolve.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/products/benefit?tags=xxxx
