You may have previously set up to skip Booking Charges & Fees for Benefit Product customers, where Benefit Product holders don't have to pay fees and charges as part of their membership or patron scheme privileges. However in certain circumstances, you may want to add on an additional hidden booking charge to handle something like a Meal Deal add-on or a VIP Package that you don't want to be skipped by Benefit Product holders. In this article we'll walk through how to set this up with a 'noskip' tag so that the system won't override this hidden charge for Benefit holders.
Adding a 'noskip' Tag
In this example, we will have a Meal Deal ticket. Let's say we want to make a Ticket Price of £30 with a hidden Booking Charge of £15 for a meal add-on.
We also have a per-ticket visible Booking Fee of £1.50 for administration costs. Normally, Benefit Product holders do not pay this fee, as part of their privileges for being a Friend.
However, we want them to pay the £15 meal add on hidden charge. So, we need to add the Tag 'noskip' into the Tags section on the hidden Booking Charge for the meal add-on so that it is not removed for them automatically.
The above setup would ensure the £15 Meal Add-On Charge is charged to Benefit Product holders, but the £1.50 admin fee will still be removed, charging Benefit Holders £45, and all other customers £46.50.
Frist, go to Manage > Pricing Schemes and find your Ticket Price.
1. Go to Settings and click on "booking charges".
2. Add the name of the charge, e.g. Meal Deal.
3. Enter the cost of the meal.
4. Click to enable Hidden Charge?.
5. In the Tags box we add the 'noskip'.
6. Select Add.
7. Click Update to save.
Now when a Benefit Product holder buys the Ticket & Meal option, they are charged for both the meal and the ticket, but the £1.50 booking fee is still not charged.
Ticketsolve Tip
If there are any other Booking Charges (not Fees) that you do not want to be skipped, like a Restoration Levy or other hidden charge, just as with the example above tag the Booking Charge with 'noskip'.
