Completed
Waiting lists

James Randell - Falmouth University
Hello,
Would be great if the customer fields in the Waiting Lists could split out first name and surname. Customers rarely, in our case, put both in. Would also be great if it was possible for it to detect if a customer adding themselves to the waiting list had a user account before it defaults to a new record.
Thanks,
James

Hi all,
Following up on this thread :)
You've likely already seen but just to share for any new readers, at the start of this year we made some significant improvements to the Waiting List including splitting out the First Name / Last Name fields (thanks for this suggestion James!), improving UX to access customer records, and allowing you to email customers on a waiting list directly from within Ticketsolve. You can read about the changes here.
Regarding existing online accounts (memberships), when a customer signs up to the waiting list online they must either register to create a new account, or log into their existing account - it isn't possible to join the waiting list as a guest/without creating an online account. If you have membership set to "yes" on your account (rather than optional) then customers must make an online account when purchasing and can't checkout as a guest, and only one account can be had per email address.
If a customer already has an online account/membership, they won't be able to create a new one with the same email address when trying to join the waiting list, and will instead be prompted to log in. As part of the upgrade this year, the Call To Action link to log in to an existing account when joining the waiting list has also been made more visible.
I've moved this thread into a new Waiting Lists - Product Feedback topic, so please do create new threads in there for further suggestions and feedback for future developments to the Waiting List feature! :)
Hi James,
Scott here. Just to clarify, you're referring to the waiting list form online that the customer needs to add themselves to, rather than the waiting list that the boxoffice teams see on the backend?
Thanks,
Scott
Hi, James.
Agreed - having the waiting list linked to the customer account would make our lives an awful lot easier.
Especially in the case of a sold out run where people are adding themselves to the list for multiple performances - we have no way of seeing this without clicking in and going through the full list for each event. So people who get tickets for one performance are likely to be contacted repeatedly when tickets become available for the other performances. At least even if they've created a new account, all the waiting list requests are usually made through the same account, so it would be much easier to see and remove them
All the best,
Seóna
Hi Scott,
Yes, the form on the front end of the site.
Best wishes,
James
Hi,
To add Seóna's comment, not only should the waitlist entry be linked to a customer account, but if the customer then purchases tickets for said event, there should be a pop up with an option to remove the customer from the waiting list for the event.
Best wishes,
Brian
