Donation Product Tags
With the rollout of the new customer prompt flow for donation products, it'd be great if we could have a kind of exclusionary tag which prevents certain products from shows rather than including them.
An example of why this would be useful:
We have a permanent donation option available to support making the venue more accessible. It's set to prompt on all purchases.
In the event that we have a Pay What You Can show, we use (as I think is advised in the documentation) a donation product specific to that show to handle the payment. Ideally, we wouldn't prompt for both donations at the same time—especially as it now requires that the customer actively clicks a checkbox to say they don't want to donate.

Hey Isaac,
Just following up on this one. At the moment, the current setup for the donation prompt and filtering aligns with the approach our development team has chosen to stick with for now.
That said, I’ve added your suggestion to our backlog, so it’s logged for review. We’ll keep an eye on demand for similar updates from other Ticketsolve users, and it’s definitely something we can revisit in the future. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on any changes or developments.
If you do require a large number of shows to be tagged for your default donation, please drop our support team a ticket, as we can help with this!
Thanks again for taking the time to share your ideas and feedback with us - it is always appreciated! 😊
Hey Isaac! Thanks for sharing this feedback!
There is the option to remove donation prompts from a show entirely using a "no_prompt_donations" tag on the show, but I appreciate that this isn't quite what you are looking for!
There is also the option to prompt different donations on different shows by including them using a "prompt_filter:showtag" tag - more info here. If you need to tag many shows, our support team can give you a hand with this! Have you tried this option already?
Let me know your thoughts :)
Hi, Natalie,
Thanks for your reply!
I have used both of those options, but they don't quite solve (in a convenient way, at least) for the use-case I described above. The situation I'm trying to avoid is a customer having to interact with >1 mandatory donation prompt during the checkout flow.
When using our standard donation product (which prompts for every show with the blanket prompt tag) alongside a show-specific Pay What You Can donation product, the only way to achieve this, I think, would be to use a prompt_filter:standarddonationproduct tag on every show except for the Pay What You Can one which is just a bit arduous and requires remembering to put that tag on all newly set-up shows.
From my perspective, it would be much easier if the prompt_filter system, which acts as a whitelist to say 'please include this donation for this show', had a matching blacklist tag (prompt_ignore:name or something) to say' please do not include this donation product on this show'.
I can see a number of other situations in which it might be useful to have donation products which automatically prompt on every show but which can then be excluded from specific ones. For example, I'd prefer not to have the theatre's standard donation product prompt for shows which benefit some other cause. At the moment, I think the system is set-up with the opposite structure in mind.
Hey Isaac,
Thanks for your reply and those use cases - I understand where you are coming from! I have shared this with our Dev team to review and see if it's something we can our backlog for future development. I'll keep you posted here! :)
