Hey guys

As we know with more users buying on mobile it would be great to integrate apple pay or similar into the purchasing process for mobile for efficiency!

    Hey all,

I wanted to pop an update in here regarding Apple & Google Pay being available for payments processed through Ticketsolve. We are very keen to get this available for Ticketsolve users and understand it's very much in demand.

Making Apple & Google Pay work is down to Global Payments, as the Payment Gateway that Ticketsolve integrates with, and additionally the merchant/acquiring bank(s) that you use. We are actively working with Global Payments to make this happen as soon as possible, but unfortunately it isn't something that we have any control over.

We have been told by Global Payments that if your acquiring bank is Global Payments, Barclays or Elavon, then it may be possible to get Apple & Google Pay enabled within the next few months. For users with alternative acquiring banks, there will be a further wait.

If you'd like any more info on this, the best point of contact is Global Payments - but of course if you have any questions we are always happy to help.

  • I would support this! With a predominantly student audience, everyone in our building pays with contactless and this is increasing more and more with Apply and Android Pay. I believe Realex supports this.

  • I think they're working on a new integration for card terminals anyway as we were told the current YesPay solution conflicts with Ticketsolve Connect since Firefox add-ons are now deprecated, so adding support for contactless at the same time would be great.

We have a chip & pin terminal that supports contactless + Apple/Android Pay already but it's currently sat in a box unused as we're not able to get it set up currently as far as we're aware.

Customers are a bit suspicious sometimes of handing their cards over to us to type the details in even though it's the same as a phone sale, but more importantly it just slows things down especially if you've a queue.

  • We currently use a Chip & Pin card reader which isn't integrated directly to Ticketsolve and then manually record the payments during the booking process. We were able to change our PDQ supplier at the time of moving to Ticketsolve as the University already holds a contract with Barclaycard. It can be a bit time consuming during busy times but does enable us to accept Apple Pay at the counter for in person sales. Would be great to get a 'Contactless' option added to the Chip & Pin drop down menu in the back end to record the number of payment paid for in this way for reporting and planning.
