Got a workshop to sell? Repeat events? Want to encourage your customers to buy them as a package? Introducing the Package Products feature in Ticketsolve! It’s perfect for those who sell workshops and repeat events - for example - like a weekly drum class.
Why use the Package Product feature?
This new feature streamlines the booking process (Box Office and online) for workshops and events that repeat. Rather than booking each individual workshop or event, customers can purchase a package of workshops as a whole.
The Package Product feature makes it easier for your customers to book repeat events and allows you to incentivise your customers to purchase a package product with a discount; either as a percentage or a fixed amount off the entire booking.
Note: This feature only works for events using unreserved seating plans and requires a unique set up which we will talk about below.
How to set up your Package Product
Create your show and add your events
In order to build your Package Product you will need to:
1. Create one show i.e., Weekly Choral Workshop.
2. Add all weekly classes as separate events for example, if your Weekly Choral Workshop was running for 10 weeks, you would set up 10 separate events under the Weekly Choral Workshop show as you can see below.
3. All events MUST use the same pricing scheme.
Use this link for more information on how to set up a show and add events.
Set up your Package Product
Once the show and the event are set up, you can set up your Package Product.
Go to Manage > Products and click Add New. Then complete the following:
1. Select the Package Product option in the Product Type dropdown menu.
2. Add a name to your Package Product. In this example it is called Choral Workshop 10 Week Term.
3. Click Add button at the bottom right of your screen.
4. Go to Package Details tab at the top of the screen.
5. Find your show from the Show Title dropdown menu.
6. Find your pricing scheme in the Ticket Price dropdown menu.
7. Select your ticket price in the dropdown menu.
8. Add a Discount to incentivise your customers for purchasing the entire 10 week programme. You can pick an amount off or percentage off and this will be applied to each ticket e.g., if your workshop ticket was £5 and you want to give £1 off per workshop to customers who book the entire series, you would add £1 in the discount box.
9. Click Update in the bottom right of your screen to save your package.
Selling your Package Product in the Box Office
Selling a package product at the Box Office is effortless.
1. In the Box Office go to the Products tab where you will find your package product listed. If you have multiple package products, use the Product Type filter to locate the desired one.
2. Select the package and specify the desired number of tickets to add to your cart. In the cart, you will see each weekly class, as well as the applied discount for each event.
3. Finally, enter the customer's name, process payment, and confirm the order to complete the sale.
Selling your Package Product online
Selling a package product online is straightforward, but customers will have to purchase the product and not the event itself. To do this, customers need to:
1. Go to the Products tab online and select the Package Product they would like to purchase.
2. To make this easier for your customers, we would recommend creating two "Book Now" buttons on your website. One button should link to the show pages so that customers can book individual weeks if needed, while the other button should link to the Package Product.
To get a direct link to the package product:
1. Tag your product with an appropriate tag e.g., 'choral'.
2. You can now create your a unique URL for that product by adding '?tags=xxxx' to the end of your normal product URL.
It will look something like this:
youraccount.ticketsolve.com/products/regular/?tags=choral
If you had a number of Package Products you could tag each of those with 'package' and use that in the tags= rule. This will bring up all your Package Products in one page so it is easier for your customers to find.
Using the Package Product feature makes it easy for your customers to buy repeat events like classes or workshops and gives you the opportunity to encourage them to buy events or workshops as a package.
