allow_split_group_tickets

  • Category: single_seats
  • Key: allow_split_group_tickets
  • Type: single tick box
  • Internal setting: false
  • Scopes: [[:account, :subdomain, :program, :show, :event]]

Overview

If enabled, this setting allows for seats not immediately beside each other to be selected for group ticket prices on seated events.

For example, for a Family Ticket with a group size of 4, allowing split group tickets would allow customers to book two separate pairs of seats (e.g. 2 in front and 2 behind each other), removing the necessity for 4 consecutive seats in a row to be available in order for Family Tickets to be purchased.

Notes

  • This setting should not be enabled if "Seat Choice Best Available?" is selected on a seated event (because the customer cannot select their seats in this instance).

  • For this setting to work correctly the venue must be set up with correct groupings, because the grouping is what allows the system to know when seats are next to each other, and when there is a break in seats like for an aisle. If customers are able to purchase online and leave single seats, even with this setting enabled, then there may be incorrect groupings on the venue layout.
