Overview 

The "printing_policy" setting determines the below based on the order type.

1. If a receipt (one ticket page per payment type) is produced for various payment types.
2. Whether tickets are produced for line item types.
3. If a ticket with the customer details is produced.

The three detail types will be printed/produced for both printed and e-tickets.

To avoid customers receiving unnecessary pages in their e-tickets (i.e. in the above example), it is recommended to disable payment and customer details for online orders.

Notes

• If when printing you receive a "No printables per print policy" error it is because the contents or an order or batch are not enabled to be printed.
  Examples:
  • An order contains only a product and the Product option under Printing policy - Line Items is not enabled for the order type.
  • An order contains only a product and the Product option is on in the Printing policy, but Permit Printed Receipt? is off on the product.
  • An order or batch contains only refunded items/payments, and the Refund options under Printing policy - Payments are not enabled.
    
    
• The tickets for customer details and payment details will follow the format of the ticket template found in the settings "template_data_customer" and "template_data_payment" for all order types whether they're to be printed at box office or e-tickets.
  
  
• The line items ticket(s) will print according to the ticket template based on the order type, so "template_data_ticket", "template_data_print_at_home_product" etc.
  
  
• Chip & pin payments that are enabled in the printing policy have a merchant's copy and customer's copy for Box Office and Phone orders. 
  
  
• If a customer pays in multiple payment types, each payment type will have its own ticket/receipt produced.

Example:

If all options in the printing policy are selected:

A customer purchases 2 tickets through box office, pay via chip & pin and cash, and is sent e-tickets. They will see 6 pages in their e-ticket:
