Overview

By default, this setting is enabled so sales sessions are optional. If disabled, all users will have to join a new or existing sales session before they can create an order.

When sales sessions are mandatory, a user will see the cart greyed out, and the below error if they try to create an order without joining a sales session.

Notes

Sales sessions are used to record all sales in a session. When the sales session is closed, a report is created with details of sales for that session.
