Did you know Ticketsolve lets you sell and host on-demand video content alongside live-streamed events? With Ticketsolve Rooms, you can easily bring your content to audiences whenever it suits them.
In this article, we'll walk you through how to set up and sell on-demand streaming content. If you’re looking for tips on live-streaming events instead, click here.
How Ticketsolve Rooms on-demand works
Here’s how Ticketsolve Rooms on-demand makes it easy to securely sell and host your video content for customers to enjoy at their convenience:
🎬 Video content
Your on-demand video is tied to a Stream Product, allowing customers to purchase and access it whenever they like - at their convenience.
🖥️ The Room
Each Stream Product is hosted on a dedicated webpage, known as the Room. This Room becomes accessible exclusively to customers who purchase the product.
🔒 Controlled access
Access is managed via a unique code sent to customers in their Checkout Mailer email. You can set usage limits to prevent sharing and maintain control.
How to create an on-demand Stream Product
Upload the video to a hosting platform
Unlike live stream events that deliver video content via an embeddable HTML output, the Ticketsolve Room for Stream Products includes an integrated video player (powered by Mux).
This means to create a Stream Product:
- You'll need access to the video file
- Have uploaded the video to a file hosting platform; we recommend Dropbox
Once you've got the video file uploaded, you can move onto creating the on-demand product.
Create an on-demand Stream Product
1. Send us your video file via Dropbox by contacting Support.
2. Let us know the Name and Price of the Stream Product so we can create the basic one for you.
3. We’ll upload your video file and link it to the Stream Product’s Room via the integrated player.
4. Once the video has been linked, you can customise the Stream Product with an image and description and start selling!
Manage access to the Room
Customers will get immediate access to the Room after they purchase a Stream Product, allowing them to watch the video content straight away or whenever suits them.
Access to the Room can be restricted by as much or as little as you like using the "entry_checkin_limit" and "entry_ip_limit" settings at the Account, Subdomain, and Product levels.
- "entry_checkin_limit": This setting determines how many times a link for the Rooms function or streaming product can be used by a single IP address.
- "entry_ip_limit": This setting determines how many IP addresses can use a link for the Rooms function or streaming product.
Unlike live stream events, you’ll likely want to increase the access limits for Stream Products to ensure customers don’t lock themselves out.
Confirm how customers receive their access code and Room link
Customers receive their Room link and access code via their Checkout Mailer - the Room link and access code should automatically pull through in MJML Checkout Mailers.
If the link doesn’t pull through in testing, or you’re not using MJML templates, please contact Support.
Ticketsolve Tip
Before promoting your stream product to customers, we would advise making a test purchase of the Stream Product to ensure everything is in place and working correctly.
And that's it - you're Stream Product is complete!
