How to Manage Multiple Benefit Products per Customer

Ticketsolve supports assigning multiple Benefit Products to a single customer. This allows organisations to manage overlapping schemes, such as memberships, patron programmes, access registers, or passes, so customers can hold more than one benefit at the same time, whether purchased online, through the Box Office, or gifted.

Introducing Multiple Benefit Products

Benefit Products let you sell or assign schemes that reward loyalty, provide access, offer perks like priority booking, or include free companion tickets.

Some organisations need customers to hold multiple Benefit Products on their account – for example, being part of a patron scheme and an access register, or offering festival passes as well as friend schemes.

Ticketsolve supports assigning multiple Benefit Products to a single customer, whether they’re purchased online, added via the Box Office, or gifted, making it easier to manage overlapping schemes and customer entitlements.

Why this matters

This opens up all sorts of possibilities:

  • Offer layered benefits across your schemes
  • Let patrons also join access registers
  • Run festival passes alongside seasonal memberships

How it works

Only one discount per ticket

If a customer has more than one Benefit Product offering discounts, only one monetary discount will apply per ticket. The system uses the priority value set on the Benefit Products to decide which discount wins.

Example:
A customer holds two Benefit Products:

  1. 10% off, Priority 99
  2. 5% off, Priority 50

Ticketsolve applies the 10% off because it is on the Benefit Product with the higher priority.

Things to note

  • You can combine Exclusive Access rules with a monetary discount, such as exclusive access to a ticket allocation and a 10% discount. Remember, however, only one monetary discount can be applied per ticket.
  • If your discount schemes include Discount Limits or Purchase Limits, once a customer hits the limit for the first Benefit Product, the system will automatically apply the next eligible Benefit Product (based on the priority order you've set).

Setting Benefit Product priorities

Priorities can be set from 1 - 99, with 99 being the highest.

To set a priority on the Benefit Product:

1. Go to Manage > Products.

2. Select your Benefit Product.

3. Enter a number into the Priority field within the product set up page e.g. '90'.

4. Click Update to save.

 Important

If you change a Benefit Product’s priority later, the original priority at the time of purchase still applies for that customer.

Online customer view

When a customer with an active benefit logs in online, the name of the first benefit, plus the number of benefits they hold, will appear beside their name in the top right corner of the screen.

In the image below, we can see that this customer holds a Theatre Friend benefit plus one other benefit:

If the customer clicks into the dropdown and navigates to their Account, they will see all of the benefits they currently hold and their expiry dates:
