Managing Effective Dates When Cloning Ticket Allocations

Overview

When Events are being cloned for future dates AND Ticket Allocations within those dates have an Effective From and/or Effective To date set, there are now two ways these can be set. 

The two options are:

• Move Effective Days date in line with the event date (default behaviour)
• Keep Effective Days set (new option)

When cloning events that have an Effective From/To Date set, the system currently behaves as follows:

•  If the source event being cloned has an Effective From/To Date entered, then all cloned events will have their Effective From/To Date shifted relative to their new scheduled date.

• This shifting is intentional: The system assumes that cloned events should maintain the same lead-in time as the original event.
  (For example, if the source event's Effective From Date was set 7 days before its start date, each cloned event will also have its Effective From Date set 7 days before its new start date.)

Keep Effective Days set (new option)

By checking the box, the Effective Dates set within the allocations will remain as input and won't change in line with the event date. 

• Some venues (such as those running cinema events with embargoed content) prefer that the Effective From/To Date remain fixed, regardless of when the event is cloned.
