Turn off Autofill

This article will outline how to turn off autofill on your computer for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari browsers. If browser autofill is enabled it can create errors in customer records in Ticketsolve by automatically filling in customer records with incorrect details. Turning off browser autofill will stop these errors and issues from occurring. 

Google Chrome Instructions

1. Open a Chrome browser.

2. Make sure you are on your Chrome work profile. If don't have a separate work profile, it is worth creating one so that your personal autofills are still enabled. 

3. Either click on 'Chrome' menu (word 'Chrome' in upper left, main menu) or the Additional Options icon (three dots) at the upper right corner of screen.

4. Click Settings option in the dropdown menu.

5. Click on Autofill and passwords from the left column.

6. You will see at some options on the main screen such as Google Password Manager, Payment methods, Addresses and more, etc. 

7. Click on each option and turn the autofill toggle off. The system will automatically save your settings. 

8. Close the Setting tab when you are finished updating the toggles.

Firefox Instructions

1. Open a Firefox browser.

2. Either click on 'Firefox' menu (word 'Firefox' in upper left, main menu) or the Additional Options icon (three lines) at the upper right corner of screen.

3. Click on Settings.

4. Click Privacy & Security.

5. Scroll to History

6. in the dropdown menu Firefox will remember your browsing, download, form and search history, click Clear history.

7. In the pop-up, click the Clear Now button. 

8. In the dropdown menu Firefox will . . .select Never remember history.

9. Click the Restart Firefox now button to save your settings. 

Microsoft Edge Instructions

1. Open a Microsoft Edge browser.

2. Either click on 'Microsoft Edge' menu (word 'Microsoft Edge' in upper left, main menu) or the Additional Options icon (three dots) at the upper right corner of screen.

3. Click on Profiles.

4. Select your Work profile. If don't have a separate work profile, it is worth creating one so that your personal autofills are still enabled. 

5. Click on Personal info section.

6. Toggle off the following:

  • Save and fill basic info
  • Automatically fill my info on sign up forms
  • Save and fill custom info

7. You can toggle off sections in Passwords and Payment info if you need to as well. 

8. The system will automatically save your settings when you make changes. 

9. Close the Setting tab when you are finished updating the toggles.

Safari Instructions

1. Open a Safari browser.

2. Click on 'Safari' (word 'Safari' in upper left, main menu).

3. Click on Settings.

4. Click the AutoFill icon.

5. In the pop-up, uncheck Using information from my contacts, Credit cards and Other forms. The system will automatically save your settings. 

6. Close pop-up when you are finished setting up the autofill.
