Cookie consent in Ticketsolve

In this article, we will explain what cookies are and details about cookie consent. Cookie consent is important as it gives customers the option to opt-in or opt-out of tracking cookies. If you want more information about what cookies are and what they do, Kasperksy have a great cookie explainer article.

How does cookie consent work?

Cookie consent works by providing website visitors with options for consenting to, denying, or setting their preferences for the use of cookies on that website. Cookie consent is usually given through site banners or pop-ups when the visitor first enters the site.

When a customer comes onto the Ticketsolve part of your website they will see a cookie consent box. This gives the customer the option to opt-in or out of cookies. By default, the marketing and advanced Google Analytics cookies will be turned off due to GDPR. The customer will have two options as you can see below:

1. I Accept

2. I Do Not Accept

They also have the ability to toggle on both Analytics Cookies and Marketing Cookies. They will not have the option to turn off Necessary Cookies as they are all Ticketsolve cookies and enable core functionality for Ticketsolve to operate.

What are Analytics and Marketing Cookies?

These cookies are basically non-essential cookies that customers can opt-in or out of. They are not needed for the website to function but do help organisations get more accurate tracking data from their customers.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies cover more advanced Google Analytics data. You are able to track customers through your website, but you can’t automatically track anything that will include the personal data of the customers. The good news is that the impact to your Google Analytics information is minimal but if a customer does opt-out of the advanced analytics, you won't be able to track their IP address and other personal information. This will have an effect on your geo and interests reporting within Google analytics.

Marketing Cookies

Marketing Cookies are important for Facebook and other social media tracking. They help with remarketing and conversion tracking within your social media marketing.

If they do not accept, you are still able to track Google Analytics data but you won’t be able to report on their geo-location and other interests. And don’t forget, you will have more accurate geo data within your Ticketsolve data.

Explaining cookies to your customers

If you need to add information on cookies to your privacy policy or to explain to a customer, you can use and adapt the following:

Our website, in collaboration with Ticketsolve as our ticketing partner, uses 'necessary cookies' to ensure a smooth booking journey. These cookies are essential for core functionalities such as page navigation and accessing secure areas, especially during the ticket booking process. Without these cookies, the booking experience may not function as intended.

It's important to note that these cookies are only employed on the booking journey section of our website and do not store any personally identifiable information. While they cannot be disabled via our website's settings, you can manage them through your browser preferences.

Additionally, to improve user experience and better comprehend our audience, we use analytics cookies for Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and marketing cookies for platforms like Facebook. We respect your privacy and offer the option to opt-out of these analytics and marketing cookies at any time. Do be aware that opting out might alter your browsing experience or the personalization of content shown to you.
