Understanding the Reports User Role

Not everyone in your organisation needs full access to the management and setup areas of Ticketsolve. Some team members are focused purely on reporting - reviewing sales figures, checking subscription data, and monitoring payment activity.

The Reports role is a streamlined, read-focused role that gives users access to everything they need for reporting and nothing more. Unlike broader roles (such as Super), it doesn't include the ability to sell tickets or see configuration and setup areas.

What's included in the Reports user role

Once logged in, Reports users see a simplified version of the admin interface. The left-hand navigation is reduced to only the tools relevant to reporting. By clicking into the Reports icon, they'll have access to the full reporting suite, including:

  • Sales Dashboard
  • Sales Reports
  • Subscriptions (Auto-reports)
  • Your Reports
  • Payments

Notes

The reports and dashboards available to a Reports user are identical to those a 'Super' can access. The only difference is that the Reports role restricts access to box office, management and configuration areas - the reporting data itself is the same.

How to set up a user with the Reports role

Please note that only Box Office Managers and Super users have access to manage user roles.

1. Navigate to Users > Manage Users.

2. Click into the user's profile you want to edit, or click Add New to create a new user.

3. If new, begin the normal user setup process (assign a name, email, etc.).

4. In the User Role section, select Reports from the dropdown on the right-hand side.

5. Save the new user.

Logging in as a Reports user

The login page contains an added 'Reports' option when logging in.

The user should select Reports from this dropdown to enter their dedicated view.
