Moving to Ticketsolve Pay

Thinking about switching to Ticketsolve Pay? This article will guide you through what to consider before making the move, how the transition works, and what to expect along the way.

If you're new to Ticketsolve Pay and want a quick overview first, start with our Introduction to Ticketsolve Pay article. It covers what it is, how it works, and the benefits it brings to your team and your customers.

 Important

Ticketsolve Pay is designed specifically for transactions processed within the Ticketsolve platform. If your organisation takes payments through other platforms (like your website, café, or shop), you'll need to continue using your existing payment providers for those.

Things to consider before switching

Before making the move, there are a few key factors worth reviewing. Whilst we've outlined the most common considerations below, every organisation is a little different, so it’s important to understand your current setup and make sure the transition works smoothly for your needs.

Payment Gateway

With Ticketsolve Pay, the gateway is included as part of the setup. That means fewer moving parts and a much simpler system to manage.

If you’re currently taking payments through Ticketsolve, you'll most likely have a contract with Global Payments as our existing payment gateway.

Here’s what to do before switching:

  • Check your contract terms: Global Payments contracts are usually rolling monthly, but it’s best to confirm this directly with them.
  • Plan your cancellation: Once Ticketsolve Pay is up and running, you can cancel your Global Payments contract.
  • Double-check other systems: Make sure Global Payments isn’t used elsewhere in your organisation (for example, retail or external donation platforms). If it is, you may need to keep the contract for those areas.

Merchant Services

Merchant Services (also known as Acquiring Services) are what move funds from your customer’s card into your organisation’s bank account.

With Ticketsolve Pay, these services are included, so in many cases, you will no longer need a separate provider.

Here’s what to think about:

  • Merchant Services used outside of Ticketsolve: If your current Merchant Services are tied to other platforms or sales channels, you’ll want to review whether you still need them.
  • Merchant Services used only within Ticketsolve: If your Merchant Services are exclusively for Ticketsolve, you can cancel that contract once the switch is complete.

 Ticketsolve Tip

We recommend keeping both systems running side by side for a short time during the switch. This makes it easier to test everything before cancelling contracts and ensures a smoother transition.
